Somewhat uncommon in cultivation despite being widespread in the wild, the roundleaf sundew is the species that Darwin obsessed over and one of the most likely carnivores that people in the temperate north may encounter. Standard plants may develop spring rosettes up to 3 inches in diameter (shrinking to sometimes little more than an inch in late season), with slender petioles and wide paddle lamina. Color is bright to live green with red tentacles, sometimes blushing with red under intense light. Flower stalks are slender, simple, and sport several small white blooms in spring.
Available plants are limited, mature late season rosettes averaging 1-1.5" in diameter.
