One of several US native species of blanketflower (though the exact species is unknown), this brilliant perennial produces fuzzy clusters of leaves from which tall stalks shoot up, topped by brilliant carmine blooms whose petals are edged in yellow. The flowers are followed by a puffball looking seedhead that falls apart into dozens of seeds.

Packets contain approx. 20+ seeds, which may benefit from but don't necessarily need a cold stratification.
