An easy to grow plant that is stunning when inspected closely, the "Blackberry Lily" requires no special treatment to germinate, just warm moist soil (early starting can produce blooms in the first year). Flat fans of familiar Iris leaves up to 18 inches tall eventually give rise to ascending stalks of smaller leaves topped in a cluster of buds that open for a single day each into 2-3 inch wide, bright orange blooms with red spotting. Pollinated flowers produce seedpods that ripen and split to reveal clusters of shiny black-coated seeds that give it the common name above. Very cold-hardy, though may be short-lived so allowing to to reseed maintains stands.
Packets contain approx. 10 seeds. Limited.
