A fairly easy to grow, rather attractive, and also edible plant, this variety being the one on the right in the above photo. Kkaennip grows as a large-leaved and bushy plant when given the space and llight it needs, with serrated slightly fuzzy ovular lamina that are rich green above, and frequently purple underneath. Plants in a garden or a deep pot and given lots of water might exceed 5 feet tall, and when mature will produce spikes of tiny pink flowers that become loaded with seeds. It's best known though for cuisine, pickled leaves as a side dish, wrapped around meats while roasting, fried as a tempura vegetable, or even eaten as part of a salad adding its unique slightly sweet, slightly savory almost-minty flavor to the mix.
Packets contain approx. 30 seeds each.
