A delicate species for the collector of wildflowers and US natives; unlike most other lupines this is a fast-growing annual that re-seeds every year. A west-coast native, it can be found in a variety of habitats from California to Washington. Plants average 8-30 inches tall, developing a splayed rosette of pinwheel-shaped leaves around a central stalk that sometimes branches as it grows, and is topped by small clusters of tiny but beautiful flowers that open indigo-blue and white and fade over time in the lighter parts to pink and purplish.

Photos are of flowers from the seeds source; packets contain around 20 seeds each. No special treatment needed for germination.
