A west-coast native aster also called common madia, this annual wildflower looks a lot better than its name suggests (which actually comes from the oily, fragrant leaves that smell like an herbal tar), and are actually some of the closest relatives to the famed Hawaiian Silverswords. Plants are scrambling semi-shrubs that can grow up to almost 4 feet tall, each stem branching profusely and tipped by 2 inch wide, bright yellow daisy-like flowers. The seeds can be eaten, baked like sunflower seeds or ground into flour.
Packets contain approx. 20+ seeds, and require no special treatment to germinate.
