An easy-growing, chunky dark hybrid that retains more or less the shape of gymnamphora but with a more broadly flaring peristome, and an overall deep purplish to almost black color when the pitchers age. Pitchers often remain somewhere around 3-4 inches tall but can nearly double that size. The plant itself is a relatively squat one, with leaves about a foot long.
