This natural hybrid has traveled through horticulture mislabeled as both of its parent species, grandiflora ssp. grandiflora and vulgaris. Plants are intermediate between both species but sometimes more vigorous, with rosettes of broad ovular leaves that generally remain rich green and can reach between 3-6 inches in diameter, and fairly large lavender-purple flowers with spreading petal lobes and violet veins running through the white throat. These require hard dormancies in winter, and like fairly cool summer conditions.
One adult flowering-sized plant available for $30; other available plants are young rosettes between 1-1.5" in diameter and gaining size.
